The Obama campaign had something to celebrate, two more victories over Clinton. Securing victory in Wisconsin and Hawaii, Barack has now won 11 straight. These victories make the already important primaries in Texas and Ohio that much more crucial to the Clinton campaign to survive. “Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign has been signaling the importance of the Ohio and Texas primaries next month, but former President Bill Clinton is taking that a step further and suggesting the two contests are ones she must win.” I feel as though the Clinton campaign has never steadily gained momentum or confidence after the early upsets the Obama campaign staged. If she loses Texas and Ohio the race is undoubtedly Obama’s to win.
Two more victories for Obama
February 25, 2008Obama Wins all Tuesday Primaries Easily
February 13, 2008
Tuesday was a devasting blow to the Clinton campaign. Barack easily secured victories in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, giving him an edge in securing the Democratic nomination. The Associate Press reports that Obama now leads in the delegate count 1,210 to Clinton’s 1,188. “Obama moved past Clinton in the delegate chase on the basis of the Tuesday’s primaries and newly released results from last Saturday’s Washington caucuses. Additional delegates still to be allocated from his new victories were certain to add to his lead.” The Hillary campaign is throwing a lot at the upcoming Texas and Ohio primaries, which I think could be a devistating mistake. If she does not secure a victory in either the states; its over, if she only wins one of the two I believe Obama must feel aboslutely confident in securing the nomination. The victories yesterday alone have dramatically boosted the moral of his campagin and donaters.
